Publication Ethics for Qonuni: Jurnal Hukum dan Pengkajian Islam

At Qonuni: Jurnal Hukum dan Pengkajian Islam, we uphold high standards of ethical behavior in all aspects of the publication process. The following publication ethics outline the responsibilities and expectations for all parties involved in the publication of the journal, including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher.

1. Responsibilities of Authors:
- Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure that their works are original and free from plagiarism. Any use of other works should be properly cited or quoted.
- Data Accuracy: Authors are responsible for the accuracy of the data presented in their manuscripts. Falsification or fabrication of data is strictly prohibited.
- Authorship: Only individuals who have made significant contributions to the research and manuscript preparation should be listed as authors. All co-authors must approve the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission.
- Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence the interpretation of their results.
- Reporting Standards: Authors should present their findings clearly, honestly, and without fabrication or manipulation of data. They should provide sufficient detail and references to allow others to replicate the work.

2. Responsibilities of Editors:
- Fair Play: Editors must evaluate manuscripts based on their academic merit without regard to the authors' race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy.
- Confidentiality: Editors must maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts submitted to the journal and not disclose any information about a manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, or other editorial advisors.
- Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: Editors must not use unpublished information disclosed in a submitted manuscript for their own research purposes without the authors' explicit written consent.
- Decision-Making: Editors are responsible for deciding which manuscripts submitted to the journal should be published, guided by the editorial board's policies and legal requirements regarding libel, copyright infringement, and plagiarism.

 3. Responsibilities of Reviewers:
- Confidentiality: Reviewers must treat manuscripts as confidential documents and must not disclose or discuss their content with others except as authorized by the editor.
- Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate, and reviewers should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.
- Acknowledgment of Sources: Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors. They should also notify the editor of any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and any other published paper of which they have personal knowledge.
- Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest: Reviewers should not consider manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the papers.

 4. Responsibilities of the Publisher:
- Ethical Oversight: The publisher must ensure that the journal follows ethical practices in all aspects of publication and is committed to preventing any unethical behavior.
- Corrections and Retractions: The publisher is responsible for making sure that corrections, clarifications, retractions, and apologies are published promptly when needed.
- Editorial Independence: The publisher must ensure editorial independence and support the editors' decisions without interference.
