Plagiarism Policy for Qonuni: Jurnal Hukum dan Pengkajian Islam
Qonuni: Jurnal Hukum dan Pengkajian Islam is committed to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and originality in academic publishing. To uphold these standards, the journal has a strict plagiarism policy to ensure that all submitted manuscripts are original works and do not contain plagiarized content.
Definition of Plagiarism:
Plagiarism involves the use of another person's work, ideas, expressions, or data without proper acknowledgment, which includes but is not limited to:
- Copying or reproducing text, figures, or data from other sources without proper citation.
- Paraphrasing someone else's work without giving credit.
- Submitting a manuscript that has been published elsewhere or is under consideration for publication in another journal.
Plagiarism Detection:
To prevent plagiarism, Qonuni: Jurnal Hukum dan Pengkajian Islam utilizes Turnitin, a leading plagiarism detection software. Turnitin is used to screen all submitted manuscripts before the peer review process. This software checks for similarities between the submitted manuscript and existing published materials, including books, journals, conference papers, and online content.
Plagiarism Policy and Actions:
- Initial Screening:
- Every manuscript submitted to Qonuni: Jurnal Hukum dan Pengkajian Islam is subjected to a plagiarism check using Turnitin. Manuscripts that exhibit a similarity index above the acceptable threshold (usually set at 20%) may be returned to the authors for revision or rejected outright, depending on the extent of the overlap.
- Minor Plagiarism (Similarity Index 20% or Below):

- Self-Plagiarism:
- Self-plagiarism, where authors reuse their own previously published content without appropriate citation, is also prohibited. Manuscripts found to contain self-plagiarized content will be treated similarly to other forms of plagiarism.
- Post-Publication Discovery of Plagiarism:
- If plagiarism is discovered after the publication of an article, the journal will take appropriate actions, including retraction of the article, issuing a statement of concern, or providing a correction. Authors will be contacted, and their institutions may be notified.
Responsibilities of Authors:
- Authors are responsible for ensuring the originality of their work and that all sources are appropriately cited and referenced.
- Authors must ensure that the manuscript submitted to Qonuni: Jurnal Hukum dan Pengkajian Islam has not been published elsewhere or is not under consideration by another journal.
